Many have heard of the word "Salvation" or "Being Saved" in religious circles and some may have not. Hopefully this page will meet your need of understanding and will fill you with more of God's knowledge, so you may be able to process what God's will is for you and your life - here on earth and beyond.
The word, Sozo, is the Greek word the Bible uses to reference salvation for men, women, and children. This word helps us to understand what our Creator has in store for us when we get reconnected with Him.
Sozo is a very descriptive, rich, and detailed word - all packed into 4 Greek letters. Sozo means: safe, rescued, properly deliver out of danger and into safety, rescued from destruction and brought into divine safety, cured, made well, restored, and recovered.
The original relationship with our Creator took place in the Garden of Eden. The ancient biblical history book of Genesis 2:9 tells us that man and woman had a close personal relationship with God the Father, their Creator. Genesis also tells us about the first created beings, Adam and Eve, who walked with God and talked with God on a daily basis.
Adam and Eve related with their Creator to enjoy the "God Life" to the fullest, but then the separation of God and man was first revealed. A disconnect happened when Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Here is a quote from the historical book of Genesis: "The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."
In the beginning God told Adam that he and Eve could eat freely of any tree in the Garden - except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil or they would surely die - spiritually - then eventually physically. When a branch is disconnected from the vine, it begins to die. After the branch is cut, its leaves still look green, but after some time the leaves eventually turn brown, revealing that the branch is dead due to the disconnect from the vine.
God knew if Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they would become independent (thinking or acting for oneself) and they would not be dependent on God's life, which comes from the tree of life in the midst of God's garden. The action of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil resulted in humankind relying on humanity's wisdom, humanity's understanding, and humanity's ways - the five sense realm knowledge. Humanity's ways are processed and assimilated through the root of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The process of this type of knowledge produces the fruit of fallen mankind.
Once Adam and Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, everything in their life and all others' lives from their generation onward was processed and assimilated through the root of that tainted, twisted tree - the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The tree of life was then immediately not made available to all of mankind. Separation from the fellowship with God Almighty - also known as the "fall of man" - was documented in Genesis chapter 3.
Sozo is the word that helps us understand that God made a way for man and woman to reestablish the exact relationship Adam and Eve had with God that was first found in the Garden of Eden. Life and relationship with God was originally processed through the tree of life before the fall of man. Jesus - the Son of God - was sent to earth as the Son of Man to be the substitution for the fall of man. Jesus is our reconnection back to our Creator.
God desires the same relationship with all of us, just like He did with His first created - Adam and Eve. Jesus is the catalyst - the very person who bonds and engrafts us back into a relationship with the Father in Heaven - God Almighty. "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him" (John 3:17).
Salvation, through the Lordship of Jesus Christ, restores us back to God's original intent - Back to the Garden. Jesus fixes the disconnected relationship problem with our Creator, Who everyone has an opportunity to accept. When we say ,"yes," to Jesus and allow Him to be our reconnect back to the Father, then we can experience:
Our human spirit becoming one with God's Spirit: Born of the Spirit,
Our soul becoming God's Soul: The Mind of Christ,
and our body becoming God's Body: The Body of Christ.
If this sounds good and reasonable to you, then God is speaking to you! His desire for you is to accept the truth: that Jesus bore All your sins, All your shortcomings, All your imperfections, and All your diseases! He will erase anything that is unrighteous in you and will give you His righteousness. He will transform you into a newly created spiritual being! Jesus will take everything that is wrong in your life and make it right. The letter in the Book of Romans says: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Isaiah 61:3 says,
"To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."
Our heavenly Father longs for you to be reconnected and reestablished back into His Kingdom and become His son or daughter in Christ Jesus.
To embrace God's plan of Salvation you can't just believe in His Words and Truth - He wants you to believe and receive His Words and Truth. Head knowledge won't save you, but when you ask Him into your life - believing with all your heart - and say: 'Yes, Lord, come now - save me now,' then you will know - He Is and He Will - you will experience salvation! How much does it cost, you ask? Ephesians 2:8-10 answers this: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." Jesus says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30).
When you ask Christ Jesus into your life,
*You will know and sense your spirit become His Spirit
*You will know and sense your soul (mind, will, and emotions) become His soul, and
*You will know and sense your body, become part of His Body.
Come into the Kingdom of God and experience God's salvation today! For Today is the Day of Salvation. For He says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2).
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).
